Kerrin McEvoy to take the reins as Darley's jockey in Australia

Darley today announced it has appointed Kerrin McEvoy as its Australian stable jockey

Darley today announced it has appointed Kerrin McEvoy as its Australian stable jockey. McEvoy will be based in Sydney and given the opportunity to ride all of Sheikh Mohammed’s race horses in Australia.

John Ferguson, Bloodstock Advisor to Sheikh Mohammed said, “Sheikh Mohammed has offered Kerrin the opportunity to ride for him in Australia. During his time in Europe, he has proved himself as a world class rider and we are delighted that he will be riding for Darley Australia”.

Darley’s new stable jockey, Kerrin McEvoy said, “I am pleased to be continuing my close association with Sheikh Mohammed. Darley is one of Australia’s leading stables and it is an honour to be part of such a great team. I cannot wait to get going”.

Kerrin McEvoy’s first riding engagements when he returns to Australia will be at the Australian Jockey Club’s meeting at Kembla Grange on Wednesday 6th August 2008.
