Green Spaces drives Street Boss to a dominant Australian Derby victory

A fourth individual G1 winner this season more than double any other stallion

Green Spaces has delivered a defining performance for Street Boss, surging to victory in the G1 ATC Australian Derby at Randwick.

Prepared by Bjorn Baker for Godolphin, the colt turned the 2,400m Classic into a one-horse race, powering clear from the 200m to score by 3-1/4 lengths on a rain-affected track under Rachel King.

Having signposted his ability with a runner-up finish in the G1 Rosehill Guineas over 2,000m, Green Spaces relished the rise in trip, settling midfield before building into the race with purpose.

King made her move approaching the home turn, and from that point, the result was never in doubt. Green Spaces quickly asserted his dominance, leaving Dezignation and Storm Leopard to chase in vain.

The victory marks a significant milestone for Street Boss, with Green Spaces becoming his fourth individual Australian G1 winner of the 2025/26 season. He joins an elite group of performers this season:

Tentyris - G1 Coolmore Stud Stakes, G1 Black Caviar Lightning
Tempted - G1 Surround Stakes
Pericles - G1 Futurity Stakes

A son of Street Cry, Street Boss continues to build a global legacy, now the sire of 14 G1 winners worldwide. Renowned as the sire of nine-time G1 winner Anamoe, Street Boss has produced 1,074 winners of 3,263 races globally, including 88 individual Stakes winners responsible for 182 Black-Type victories.

Green Spaces is the second G1 winner out of Outdoors, whose first foal Trekking (Street Cry) captured the G1 Stradbroke Handicap and G1 The Goodwood for Godolphin.

Demand for his progeny remains strong, with Street Boss yearlings selling up to $400,000 at the recent Australian Easter Yearling Sale.
