First winner for Skilled

Little Elsa becomes second starter and first winner for her sire

Skilled recorded his first winner from just his second starter with his two-year-old daughter Little Elsa an impressive debut winner over 1000m at Hobart, January 24.

After jumping smartly, Little Elsa quickly took control of the race. The striking black filly kicked clear turning for home and was never seriously challenged, going on to record a comfortable two-length victory.

Bred by Liverpool Street Investments, Little Elsa is the fourth foal and fourth winner out of winning Cape Cross mare Walvis Bay.

A winner of the G1 Champagne Stakes as a juvenile, Skilled has just one second-crop yearling entered for next month’s Inglis Classic Yearling Sale in Sydney, while he has five yearlings entered for the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale in Melbourne.
