First Group win for son of Too Darn Hot

Native Approach lands the G3 Nad Al Sheba Turf Sprint

Native Approach, a first-crop son of Too Darn Hot, appreciated the drop in trip to 1200m when winning the G3 Nad Al Sheba Turf Sprint at Meydan. After spending his career racing at 1400m or over, he was able to track the fast pace before asserting for a comfortable victory.

He has now won two Stakes victories after a Listed win over 1400m at Meydan in December 2024.

Bred by Godolphin, Native Approach is a son of the Stakes-winning Shamardal mare Sperry, who has already produced a Group winner in Discovery Island (Dubawi">Dubawi). Sperry also has a juvenile filly by Too Darn Hot in training with Charlie Appleby, and is due to give birth to the same stallion next month.

Too Darn Hot has already sired three Black Type winners in 2026 including Tropicus, winner of the G1 Oakleigh Plate last weekend in Australia.
