First G1 winner for Blue Point

Rosallion easily lands the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere on Arc day

First-crop sire sensation Blue Point had his first top-flight winner on Sunday, 1 October when his son Rosallion landed the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere. Held up early in the 1400m contest, he came wide in the straight and quickened well to record a one-length victory in a track record time of 1:18.23.

He has now won three of his four starts including a top-class Listed win at Ascot with his only defeat coming on unsuitable soft ground at Doncaster.

Owned and bred by Sheikh Mohammed Obaid Al Maktoum, Rosallion is a daughter of the New Approach mare Rosaline, a sister to six Stakes winners including 2023 G1 Queen Anne Stakes hero Triple Time.

Blue Point leads all European first-crop sires with 39 individual winners. Rosallion is the star of his four Stakes winners that also includes G2 winner Big Evs and Listed winners Action Point and Shady Lady.
