NEWS: Brazen Beau off to a flying start at Premier Sale

Orbis Bloodstock bids $800,000 for “standout” colt.

Brazen Beau has picked up where he left off with his first yearling to enter the ring at the Inglis Premier Sale making $800,000, the second-highest priced yearling ever sold at Inglis Premier.

The colt from the unraced O’Reilly mare Up In Lights offered by Bhima Thoroughbreds and catalogued as Lot 4 went to the bid of Orbis Bloodstock.

Brazen Beau dominated Australia’s previous major yearling sale providing the top two lots at last month’s Inglis Classic Sale in Sydney.

Successful bidder Paul King of Orbis said he had been determined to by the colt.

“He’s a lovely colt, the standout Brazen Beau in the sale,” King said.

“He’ll go to John Hawkes, who loved him.”

The colt’s granddam Love The Limelight is a half-sister to the multiple G1 winner Metal Bender and the G1 Goodwood Handicap winner Keeper.
