Fast Arrow

Second winner of the weekend for Teofilo

Two-year-old colt Black Arrow, by Teofilo, was victorious at his first time out as a favourite on a maiden at Hannover, Germany on Sunday, August 21. It was the second winner for his sire over the weekend following the previous days triumph of the filly Cleofila in Ireland. The Andreas Wohler-trained colt defeated another 10 competitors over the 1600m on the turf.

Black Arrow is out of the Listed-placed Diesis mare Fann and was bred in Ireland by Rabbah Bloodstock, now being owned by Stall 24. The broodmare had a full-brother to the winner in 2010, a filly by Darley Kildangan-based stallion Cape Cross in 2011 and is in foal to another Darley stallion, G1 Epsom Derby winner New Approach.

Teofilo has now nine individual winners including the G3 winner Remember Alexander, the Listed winner Teolane and recent G2 placed Parish Hall. Standing the forthcoming breeding season at Darley Kelvinside at a fee of $22,000 (inc GST), the unbeaten dual G1-winning juvenile is once again proving extremely popular with breeders.
