Bernardini sires his second Stakes winner from his second-crop

Bernardini two-year-old Exclusive Diva kept her perfect record intact with an impressive victory in the Listed Angie C. Stakes at Emerald Downs August 7. Making her Stakes debut, the filly was entering off a sharp Maiden Special Weight win in her debut over the same track by over three lengths.

Throughout the 1200m race, the Bernardini filly duelled for the lead and took command at the front. Holding position, she extended her lead in the straight and continued on for the victory. She is the second Stakes winner from the second crop of Bernardini, after Gamilati took Newmarket's G2 Cherry Hinton Stakes recently.

A homebred for Northwest Farms LLC, Exlusive Diva is a daughter of Puxa Saco, by Dehere. The mare is a Graded Stakes winner, who won the G3 Las Flores Handicap.

A son of A.P. Indy, Bernardini is the sire of a remarkable seven G1 horses to date. Just one week ago, his son Stay Thirsty nailed his second Graded victory with a runaway win in the G2 Jim Dandy Stakes at Saratoga. He is also the sire of G1 winning juveniles A Z Warrior and Biondetti from his first crop.

With his first-crop of southern hemisphere-bred runners set to hit the track in the coming months, Bernardini will stand the forthcoming breeding season at Darley Kelvinside at a fee of $38,500 (in GST).
