Dawn continues to rise

Moghamarah becomes the latest winner for first-season sire Dawn Approach

Dawn Approach has been enjoying an excellent September and he sired his latest new winner when his daughter Moghamarah ran out the very impressive scorer of the the mile maiden at Gowran Park. Making her third career start after a brace of runner-up finishes, she was always travelling with ease and was never extended to record a facile six-and-a-half-length triumph.

Owned and bred by Hamdan Al Maktoum, she is a half-brother to the Stakes-winning sprinter Mushir and out of the top-class juvenile Shimah (Storm Cat), winner of the Listed Saoire Stakes and runner-up in the G1 Moyglare Stud Stakes.

Now the sire of ten individual winners, Dawn Approach also has four Stakes performing juveniles, a number not beaten by any other European first-crop stallion. Heading the list is G2-filly Mary Tudor, third in the G2 Debutante Stakes at the Curragh, Japanese G3-colt Fast Approach, G3 Silver Flash Stakes third Dawn Delivers and dual Listed-placed sprinter Haddaf. Moghamarah is Dawn Approach’s fifth winner this month including Fajjaj’s impressive debut triumph at Ascot last weekend.

He is standing this season at Kelvinside, NSW, at a fee of $22,000 Inc GST.
