Darley Australia announces 2026 stallion roster

Champions Too Darn Hot and Ghaiyyath top an elite two-state roster joined by recently retired Tentyris and Observer

Darley Australia has announced its 2026 stallion roster, with 16 stallions to stand across Kelvinside in New South Wales and Northwood Park in Victoria. Collectively, they have amassed 43 G1 wins, 81 Group wins, 12 Champion titles and eight race or track records.

Too Darn Hot ($275,000) headlines the star-studded roster. Few stallions have made a start like he has, with a higher Group winners-to-runners ratio than any stallion since Redoute’s Choice, and a million-dollar yearling in each of his first four crops. This includes a $2.2 million colt at the recent Inglis Easter Yearling Sale. Alongside him is sensational Anamoe ($110,000), whose first yearlings set the sales rings alight, delivering the best first crop average in history. Over 60 yearlings by the former Horse of the Year were sold at an average of $400,000, led by a $1.1 million top lot.

Victoria welcomes the return of Dubawi’s highest-rated son in Ghaiyyath ($88,000). With an exceptional 11% Stakes winners-to-runners in his first southern hemisphere crop, the World’s Best Racehorse of 2020 is now establishing himself as a highly sought-after classic stallion. In New South Wales, former champion European sprinter Harry Angel ($88,000) continues to rise up the stallion ranks. Group One performers like Tom Kitten, Private Harry, War Machine and Angel Capital have firmly established their sire as a proven outcross of high-class horses.

Breeders looking for the commercial benefit of first-season stallions have welcomed the recent retirement of Tentyris ($88,000) and Observer ($33,000). Tentyris, the fastest winner of the Coolmore Stud Stakes as well as the Lightning Stakes, represents the best of Australian speed, while Observer offers the alternative Australian breeders are increasingly seeking, a classic profile similar to his successful sire. Observer becomes the only Guineas winner from the Dubawi line to stand at stud in Victoria.

Depth through the roster continues to build. Bivouac ($33,000) has already produced a dual G1 winner this season, while Broadsiding ($55,000) and Traffic Warden ($22,000) were well supported in 2025 ahead of their first foals this spring. Champion two-year-olds Pinatubo ($27,500) and Native Trail ($22,000) complete the New South Wales roster.

In Victoria, Street Boss ($66,000) continues to deliver, siring four individual G1 winners this season, more than any other active stallion in Australia. Brilliant sprinter Cylinder ($33,000) will have his very good-looking first weanlings offered this year, and Brazen Beau ($27,500) has enjoyed another excellent autumn with a spate of recent Stakes performers. Kermadec ($11,000) and Paulele ($11,000) round out the roster, offering proven, accessible options for breeders.

“This is an amazing lineup of stallions. It’s hard to imagine a better roster.” said Andy Makiv, Managing Director of Godolphin Australia.

“Stallions that have won the right races, with the right pedigrees and producing the right results. The diversity of our roster certainly gives breeders a choice and a wonderful opportunity.”
