Boss of All Bosses dueled with Fran’s Star through the opening half-mile before putting that rival away and drawing off in the stretch to win the $100,000 Edward J. Johnston Memorial Stakes by three-and-a-half lengths on the turf at Fair Grounds on Saturday, 28 February.
It was the first Stakes victory for the four-year-old Street Boss colt, who has now won three straight races and four of his last five starts.
Bred by Jay Adcock and Montgomery Equine Center in Louisiana, Boss of All Bosses is out of the Stakes-placed mare, Tensas Salt, by Salt Lake. Boss of All Bosses is a half brother to the multiple Stakes-winning filly, Is Too (Midshipman), and to the Stakes winner, Sydster (Power Broker).
In addition to Boss of All Bosses, Street Boss is the sire of three G1 winners this season in Australia: Tempted, winner of the G1 Surround Stakes at Royal Randwick; Tentyris (G1 Lightning Stakes) and Pericles (G1 Futurity Stakes). It is a feat unmatched by any other stallion in Australia this season.
