Two of top four Keeneland Wednesday yearlings by Bernardini

With 20 six-figure yearlings so far at Keeneland’s September Yearling Sale, Bernardini continues to impress with his third crop of foals.

Fresh odf the “hooves” of Tuesday’s session-topping, US$1.2 million-dollar yearling, Bernardini again agttracted the attention of buyers with a US$625,000 offering, the day’s second-highest price. Consigned by Catherine Parke’s Valkyre Stud (consignor of the aforementioned seven-figure yearling), hip number 565 is a half-sister to four Stakes winners, three Graded, including the multiple Graded winner Keyed Entry.

Yearlings by the sire of 2011 Travers Stakes winner Stay Thirsty also realized prices of US$500,000, US$410,000 and US$325,000, etc.

Medaglia d'Oro also remained a crowd favorite exemplified through the likes of hip number 804 which brought US$420,000 from the consignment of Mill Ridge Sales, agent. A full-brother to G1 Carter Handicap winner Warrior’s Reward, the colt was purchased by Fox Hill Farm/Tom McGreevy, agent.

G1 Kentucky Derby winner Street Sense and that year’s second-place finisher Hard Spun were once again not ignored by the sale’s attendees with each represented by US$320,000 yearlings, consigned by Dromoland Farm and Taylor Made Sales Agency.  

Another son of Street Cry also attracted the attention of buyers with Street Boss’s two offerings of the sale’s fourth day bringing six figures each. Jay Em Ess Stables and John Ferguson signed the tickets on the two colts from the first crop of Street Cry’s fastest son.
