Australia Day double for Harry Angel

Star second-season sire continues to notch up winners

Already a G1 producer, second-season sire Harry Angel continues to add winners recording an Australian Day double at Warwick Farm and Murray Bridge respectively.

It was Chris Waller's Tellez (3G, Azeema by Fastnet Rock) who saluted in the first race at Warwick Farm by three-quarters of a length sporting Neville Morgan's white and blue colours, carried by fellow Darley stallion Kermadec

Raced by old friends Neville Morgan and David Devine, Tellez was a $240,000 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale first-crop purchase for Chris Waller Racing/Mulcaster Bloodstock in 2022.

From the draft of Bhima Thoroughbreds, Tellez was bred by T B R Dixon & Haunui Bloodstock Ltd - a great return on the $22,000 including GST first-season service fee.

DEBUT STAR FOR PEACOCK

Quickly to follow and bring up the double was Apache Discreet (3G, Just Discreet by Exceed And Excel) cruising to the line by 3.5 lengths on debut over 1,200m.

Bred by one of Australia's leading breeders, Mr David Peacock, who, just last year, was inducted into the South Australian Hall of Fame, Apache Discreet carries his familiar lime green silks and carries the 'Discreet' moniker so synonymous with G1 success over many decades.

The son of Harry Angel brought up winner number 20 for the season.

HARRY'S ANGELS

Harry Angel concluded his first season a million-dollar earner and shared top first-season sire by Stakes winners (three) honours with Justify.

His second season saw an early-season G1 win by three-year-old Tom Kitten (3C, Transfers by Street Cry) in the Spring Champion Stakes - Harry Angel is leading second-season sire by Stakes winners with three for 20 winners and current season earnings of $2,851,000.
