Hard Spun filly wins in Japan

G1 King's Bishop Stakes winner Hard Spun was represented by his ninth winner from his first-crop as the filly Frisco Bay won a maiden over 1200m at Niigata racecourse in Japan on Saturday, August 20.

Frisco Bay was bred by Southern Equine Stables and is owned by Nasuno Bokujo. The filly is a daughter of the Stakes-winning mare Frisco Belle, a full-sister to the G2 placed Crown Point.

Hard Spun, a son of the late Danzig, stands at Darley America and has shuttled to Darley Australia to commence the forthcoming southern hemipshere breeding season where he will stand at Darley's Victorian based, Northwood Park at a fee of $16,500 (inc GST). Enjoying success all over the world with winners in Japan, United States and England, Hard Spun is the sire of the impressive G2 winner Red Duke.
