Another first-crop winner for Dubai Destination

Appenine wins first time out at Ballarat to become the fifth Australian-bred winner for the freshman sire

Appenine became the fifth winner from Dubai Destination's first Australian crop when scoring over 1200m on her racecourse debut at Ballarat on Thursday.

A $30,000 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale purchase, Appenine is a daughter of G2 winner Apollo Wonder, by Rory’s Jester.

Dubai Destination, whose Darley homebred son won the G1 Racing Post Trophy last year in the UK, is also sire of the G2-placed Dubai To Sydney and city winners Viva Dubai and How Discreet.
