Anda Muchacho lands the Italian 2,000 Guineas

Son of Helmet remains unbeaten in winning the G3 Premio Parioli

Helmet’s three-year-old son Anda Muchacho remained unbeaten on Monday 1 May when landing the  G3 Premio Parioli, the Italian 2,000 Guineas run in Rome. Unraced until March this season, he has soon made up for lost time, winning a maiden and the Listed Premio Gardone, both at Milan, before today’s Classic triumph.

Bred by Thomas Hassett, he is a son of the unraced Shamardal mare Montefino, whose first foal was the G3 juvenile Parsley. Montefino is a daughter of G2 winner Monturani and granddaughter of Mezzogiorno, who was placed in both the G1 Epsom and Yorkshire Oaks.

Anda Muchacho is from the first crop of Helmet which also includes the G1 winning juvenile Thunder Snow, unbeaten in two Group races in Meydan already this season and heading to the Kentucky Derby next weekend, and Group juveniles Eqtiraan and Mur Hiba. He is standing this season at a fee of $16,500 Inc GST at Northwood Park.
