Anamoe, son of Street Boss adds a third G1 to his outstanding record

The superstar colt amplified his sparkling resume with a six-and-a-half-length victory in the G1 Rosehill Guineas

Champion colt Anamoe showed his class and superiority on Saturday, 19 March in Sydney when he blitzed the field of three-year-olds to win the G1 Rosehill Guineas over 2,000m.

In winning his third G1 race and his seventh at Stakes level, Anamoe beat Randwick Guineas winner Converge by a widening 6.5 lengths, with Forgot You three-quarters of a length away in third place.

Jockey James McDonald positioned Anamoe in second spot in the run and the colt annihilated his opposition in the home straight to stamp his claims on the G1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2,000m) at Randwick on 9 April.

Godolphin Australia head trainer James Cummings reflected on Anamoe’s victory and resume with earnest confidence.

“The horse was here 12 months ago running second in the Golden Slipper after drawing barrier 15 of 15. He is just a pure racehorse, an absolute athlete and he is just a pleasure to do anything with,” Cummings said.

“That’s a pretty exciting performance there. We are very lucky for His Royal Highness Sheikh Mohammed that we’ve got a horse of his calibre that will one day be good enough to join the Darley stallions roster.”

Anamoe, by Street Boss out of Anamato, took his record to seven wins and seven placings from 15 starts for prize money earnings of $4,788,275.

Street Boss is currently sitting third on the Leading Australian three-year-old sires list for the 2021-2022 season, and he is the sire of 61 Stakes-winners worldwide.
