Miss Dubai became the sixth individual winner from Dubai Destination's first Australian-bred crop when saluting on her debut at Wyong over 1100m following several impressive trials.
Her sire’s southern hemisphere representatives include the G2-placed Dubai To Sydney, while in Europe, where his oldest runners are now three, Dubai Destination is sire of G1-winning juvenile Ibn Khaldun and G3 winner Rosa Del Dubai.
Later in the afternoon, Assertive Billy made sure Miss Dubai was not the only successful first-season representative at Wyong when winning over 1350m, his first attempt at the distance. His victory is the fifth for Reset, who is also sire of G3 winner Rebel Raider, Listed winner Likefatherlikeson and the British-trained Saxford, who was his first Stakes winner in the northern hemisphere.
Miss Dubai’s win puts Dubai Destination on a par with fellow Darley stallion Lonhro, who also has six winners from his first crop, while Untouchable, like Reset, has sired five winners. All six Darley first-season sires are in the top ten of the freshman stallion table, with Exceed And Excel enjoying an unassailable lead by both prize-money and number of individual winners (13). Grandera‘s first-crop tally stands at four.
