Pedigree notes

Triple Time has the Rasmussen Factor (RF) being inbred to the full brothers Sadler’s Wells and Fairy King. Three of the greatest ever sires in Australasia, Star Kingdom, Sir Tristram and Danehill all had the RF which occurs at double the rate in successful sires than in the commercial population.

G1 Stats

Triple Time’s sire Frankel is producing G1 winners at an astonishing rate and some clear trends are emerging among his 34 individual G1 winners.

  • 11/34 are out of Mr Prospector line mares
  • 4/34 are out of mares by Dubawi or sons
  • 5/34 are out of Pivotal mares, Nureyev line
  • 3/34 are out of mares from the Green Desert line of Danzig
  • 3/34 are out of mares by Monsun or sons
  • 2/34 are out of Ahonoora line mares
  • 3/34 are out of Shamardal mares or Storm Cat line

Best Nicks

Frankel’s versatility is indicated by his excellent nicking stats with the daughters of all 17 sires whose daughters have been sent in the biggest numbers. These include Dubawi, Street Cry, Pivotal, Dansili, Shamardal, Invincible Spirit, Oasis Dream and Kingmambo.

Inbreeding/Linebreeding options

Triple Time’s pedigree contains several key ancestors who are suitable subjects for inbreeding. He is already inbred to the full brothers Sadler’s Wells and Fairy King whose three-quarter brother Nureyev is an obvious choice as he also features in the nick with Pivotal. Frankel’s sire has strong pedigree similarities to Dubai Millennium whose son Dubawi also forms another great nick with Frankel. The Blue Hen mares Natalma, Allegretta, Delsy and Lalun all feature close-ups in Triple Time’s ancestry and make excellent subjects for linebreeding.

Strategy One

Mares by Dubawi or sons, or carrying his strain are no-brainers for Triple Time. These include stallions such as Dubawi, Makfi, Poet’s Voice and Too Darn Hot.

Strategy Two

Triple Time should be suited by other Mr Prospector line mares (or mares carrying Mr Prospector) such as those by Street Cry, Street Boss, Secret Savings, Swiss Ace, Flying Spur and All Too Hard.

Strategy Three

Mares by, or carrying, Nureyev anywhere in their pedigrees will also replicate the best G1 pedigrees and strongest nicks for this sireline. These include mares by the champion sire and broodmare sire Zabeel, whose dam is by Nureyev. Attractive prospects are mares by Lonhro, Pierro and Pierata as well as Xtravagant, Denman, Dundeel, Exosphere, Star Turn, and Exceedance. Several of these reinforce other key elements of Triple Time’s pedigree.

Strategy Four

Mares from the Storm Cat line, particularly the Shamardal and Scat Daddy lines have nicked well with Triple Time’s sire and should produce good results. These include mares by Shamardal himself, Blue Point, Puissance De Lune and also Justify.

Strategy Five

Mares from, or carrying,  the Ahonoora line would also be recommended. Harry Angel and Churchill would provide this linebreeding.

Strategy Five

Triple Time’s pedigree has Danehill one generation further back than Frankel and stallions with this pattern have produced good results with mares carrying Danehill in their own female line. The three G1 Golden Slipper winners inbred to Danehill, namely Farnan, Stay Inside and Fireburn, all display a version of this form of inbreeding.
