Reparations claims Listed John Dillon Stakes at Sandown

Reparations, a son of Exceed And Excel, claimed his third victory at Stakes level with a determined win in the Listed John Dillon Stakes at Sandown, Janury 26.

A Listed winner at Flemington on Melbourne Cup day last year, Reparations followed that effort up with a solid third behind Decircles in the G3 Standish Handicap on New Year’s Day. He was able to turn the tables on Decircles in the John Dillon Stakes, prevailing by a nose in a tight finish.

Bred by Darley, Reparations is out of the Listed–winning Red Ransom mare Hold To Ransom who is also the dam of the G3-winning and multiple G1 placed Retrieve as well as the Listed-winning Street Cry filly Abduction.

Exceed And Excel is Australia’s leading two-year-old sire with nine individual winners this season . His yearlings sold up to $800,000 at the Magic Millions yearling sale on the Gold Coast earlier this month and he has two colts going under the hammer tomorrow at the New Zealand Bloodstock Premier Sale at Karaka.
