Street Cry strikes early on day one of the Inglis Broodmare Sale

Sharp Susan, carrying a positive test to Street Cry sells for $1,050,000 million

After an extremely positive Easter yearling sale the week prior, where he had the top priced selling colt which made $1.2million, Street Cry has once again produced an impressive result, this time with the Tyreel Stud-consigned Sharp Susan.

Entering the ring as lot 28, the G3-winning Touch Gold mare, a half sister to G1 winners Spring At Last and Sharp Lisa, was purchased by Badger’s Bloodstock for $1,050,000 carrying a positive test to Street Cry.

The sire of 13 international G1 winners including Melbourne Cup hero Shocking and Caulfield Guineas winner Whobegotyou, Street Cry ended the recent Easter yearling sales as the third leading sire on averages, an impressive performance with his first crop of yearlings since returning after a few years of not shuttling.

Later in the day the Yarraman Park (as agent)-consigned lot 198, the G2-winning,  multiple G1 placed Mimi Lebrock produced and outstanding result for Exceed And Excel.

In foal to the Champion sprinter, the former Bart Cummings-trained mare was knocked down for $1,025,000 to Gerry Harvey’s Baramul Stud. The second top lot of the day behind Sharp Susan, this mare was one of three mares to sell in foal to Exceed And Excel in the top ten lots.

Another significant result for the Darley stallions saw lot 117, the Stakes-winning Lonhro mare Custard knocked down to Segenhoe Stud for $575,000.
