Zelos Girl is out of the Bering mare Sedna and cost 20,000gns ($44,500) as a yearling. She is the fourteenth northern hemisphere winner for Exceed And Excel, who is Champion first-season sire in Australia.
Aquiesced took Refuse To Bend's tally of winners to six when winning at Windsor, having been narrowly beaten for second on both her previous starts. Bred by Thurso Ltd out of North East Bay (Prospect Bay), she is a half-sister to dual winner Strategic Mission (Red Ransom) and is a graduate of the Arqana Deauville August Yearling Sale (which starts this year on 15 August), where she was bought by Peter Doyle for €150,000 ($252,790).
