Set For Fame returns in style to land the Caulfield Sprint

Reset mare records her third G2 victory

Four-year-old Reset mare Set For Fame returned to the track in outstanding style after a four-month break to power over the top of the field and win the G2 Caulfield Sprint over 1100m on 16 October.

Settled towards the rear under Luke Nolen, the Peter Moody-trained filly was brought wide with 600m left to run and quickening impressively, took the lead at the 100m mark and soon drew clear to win by two lengths from Dubleanny with three-year-old Commands colt a neck back in third.

Set For Fame has now won three of four starts at her home track, including the G2 Armanasco Stakes back in February.  She will now head to Flemington for the Melbourne Cup Carnival with her trainer highlighting the Salinger, the Chatham Stakes on Derby day and the Emirates Stakes as possible targets.

Bred and part-owned by Robert Crabtree, Set For Fame is out of the winning Dehere mare Northpoint and is from the family of Bletchingly.

Set For Fame becomes the third individual Stakes winner for Reset this season alongside Rebel Raider and Avienus, and his 25th individual winner this campaign.

Reset himself retired to stud as an unbeaten multiple G1 winner and is standing the current season at Northwood Park for $22,000 including GST.
