Darley acquires G1 Coolmore Stud Stakes winner Brazen Beau

Darley in Australia has purchased one of Australia’s best three-year-old sprinters, Brazen Beau. The winner of the G1 Coolmore Stud Stakes will remain in training with Chris Waller and will continue to race in the all gold colours of his previous owners, Ontrack Thoroughbreds, for the duration of his autumn campaign. Brazen Beau is by Australia’s champion first season sire I Am Invincible who is now leading the second season sires’ premiership.

Brazen Beau will be targeted at the G1 Lightning Stakes and G1 Newmarket Handicap before heading to the UK to run in the G1 Golden Jubilee at Royal Ascot in June next year.

Darley’s Managing Director in Australia Henry Plumptre said, “We are delighted to have secured Brazen Beau for stud duties next year. We identified him as a top class colt after his win in the Roman Consul Stakes in Sydney and it was no surprise to us when he won the Coolmore as impressively as he did. It is hoped that he will be able to underline his ability with an autumn campaign taking in two of this country’s best sprints before running at Royal Ascot. He is a powerful type and as a G1 winner already he’ll be a popular addition to our roster when he retires to take up stud duties at Northwood Park for the 2015 season.”
