Epaulette adds another Group success

Comfortable Caulfield Guineas Prelude win
Darley-homebred son of Commands, Epaulette, continued his winning run of form with a comfortable success in the G3 Caulfield Guineas Prelude over 1400m at Caulfield.

Allowed to settle in the perfect position, just in behind the leaders, Epaulette moved up to challenge into the straight, coming with his challenge to win going away at the finish under the top-weight of 58.5kg.

Winner of the G1 Golden Rose at his previous start, Epaulette is now on course to repeat the Caulfield Guineas success of 2011 of his three-quarter brother Helmet, who is standing his first season at Darley Northwood Park in 2012.

The first prize extends the lead for Commands in the Australian General Sires’ Table and makes it a stakes double for the stallion following the G2 Stan Fox Stakes success on Saturday by Proverbs.

Commands stands at Darley Kelvinside where his fee in 2012 is $55,000 inc. GST.
