Brazen Style enters Stakes class with a G3 victory

Brazen Beau Inglis Easter graduate salutes in the G3 Thoroughbred Club Stakes at Caulfield

Speedy filly Brazen Style opened her black type account and signalled there were more victories in store when she led all the way to win the G3 Thoroughbred Club Stakes over 1,200m at Caulfield on Saturday, 18 November.

Ridden confidently by Craig Newitt, the three-year-old by Brazen Beau crossed from a wide gate and then travelled kindly to the home turn before kicking strongly in the straight to just edge out Miraval Rose in a tight finish.

Bred by Michael Birchall and offered by Mill Park Stud at Meningie in South Australia at the 2022 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale, the filly was purchased by Shane Nichols Racing and Hollymount Stud for $250,000.

Out of the New Zealand triple black type winner In Style, who won the G1 Railway Stakes at Ellerslie in 2015, Brazen Style was an impressive Yarra Valley maiden winner last month at just her second race start.

The Nichols-trained filly continued her progress and gave her Victorian-based sire his third Stakes race win in the past three weeks, after Bold Bastille won the Restricted Listed 2YO Inglis Banner (1,000m) at Moonee Valley and General Beau saluted in the Listed Always Welcome Stakes (1,200m) at Flemington.

Brazen Beau (I Am Invincible) has now sired the winners of 755 races, including 26 individual Stakes winners of 41 black type races. He will be represented by 12 yearlings and the upcoming 2024 Magic Millions January Yearling Sale.

The stallion stands at Darley’s Northwood Park, Victoria for a service fee of $44,000, GST inclusive.
