Street Boss continues to sire feature-race winners, with brilliant filly Tempted winning at Royal Randwick and newcomer Closer To Free successful at Caulfield on Saturday, 7 February.
Tempted returned to racing with a slashing victory in the G3 Eskimo Prince Stakes over 1,200m.
The Ciaron Maher-trained three-year-old raced in fourth position to the home turn before sprinting quickly up the rise and racing clear to beat Napoleonic by 1.25 lengths, with Wodeton 1.75 lengths away in third place.
In winning her fifth race, with four placings, from just 10 starts, Tempted recorded a slick 1 minute 8.78 seconds under jockey Chad Schofield on a track rated a Good 4.
It was her fourth Stakes-race win and followed her gallant second to world champion sprinter Ka Ying Rising in the G1 $20 million The Everest 1,200m at Randwick last October.
Bred by Godolphin out of marvellous broodmare Calliope, Tempted will chase her first G1 victory in the Surround Stakes at Randwick in two weeks.
Earlier on Saturday, Closer To Free debuted to win the G3 Blue Diamond Prelude for colts and geldings over 1,100m at Caulfield.
Confidently ridden outside the leader by Michael Dee, Closer To Free took the lead on the home turn and then kicked strongly to beat Guest House by a length with Eternal Warrior a short-neck away in third place.
The winner, who was bred and then offered by Milburn Creek Stud at the 2025 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale, was bought by Polaris Bloodstock for $60,000.
Out of Listed winner Lady Naturaliste, Closer To Free is trained by Danny O’Brien at Flemington and covered the distance in a fast 1 minute 3.1 seconds to secure his place in the G1 Blue Diamond Stakes 1,200m at Caulfield in two weeks.
Street Boss has now sited 1,061 winners of 3,218 races, including 88 Stakes winners of 178 Black-Type events.
The stallion’s progeny sold at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale last month to $340,000, while his only lot at the Karaka Yearling Sale in New Zealand fetched NZ$475,000.
