Stakes success for Solomon’s Bay

Son of Exceed And Excel lands the Listed Surrey Stakes at Epsom

Solomon’s Bay, a three-year-old son of Exceed And Excel, won his first Stakes race on Friday 2 June when landing the Listed Surrey Stakes at Epsom. Held up at the rear in the seven-furlong contest, he swept down the outside in the straight to win going away by three-quarters-of-a-length.

Owned and bred by Prince Faisal, he is out of the Sadler’s Wells mare Gentle On My Mind and a half-brother to the Group-placed Meadow Creek. He hails from the tremendous extended family of Taghrooda, Estimate, Enzeli and Ebadiyla.

Exceed And Excel is enjoying a very good 2017 with Solomon's Bay becoming his 23rd Stakes performer. Amongst his stars this season are Mr Stunning, Morawij and Folkswood as well as Group winners Priceless, Championship, Heavy Metal and Mix And Mingle. He is standing this coming season at a fee of $110,000 Inc GST.
