Ajman Princess takes the Daisy Warwick Stakes by five lengths at Goodwood

Daughter of Teofilo records her first Black type win in fine style

Teofilo’s four-year-old daughter Ajman Princess, second in last year’s G2 Ribblesdale Stakes at Royal Ascot, added a first victory at Stakes level to her record on 6 May when landing the Listed Daisy Warwick Stakes at Goodwood.

Settled just off the pace under Fran Berry, the Roger Varian-trained filly travelled well throughout the 2400m contest and once asked to quicken inside the final 400m, demonstrated an impressive turn of foot to skip clear of her rivals and win by five lengths.

Ajman Princess is out of the Stakes-placed Mark Of Esteem mare Reem Three, a half-sister to Dubawi’s G2 Celebration Mile winner Afsare. Reem Three has a two-year-old colt by New Approach and a yearling filly by Dubawi.

Teofilo is sire of 13 Black type performers so far this year, headed by G1 Australian Cup hero Humidor – one of 12 winners at the highest level for his sire. He is also sire of 2017 G1 performers Happy Clapper and Special Fighter.

Teofilo stands at Kelvinside at a fee of $44,000 including GST.
