Tromso becomes Lonhro's 41st Stakes winner

Consistent gelding lands thrilling victory in Listed Ladies Day Cup at Hawkesbury

Consistent Lonhro gelding Tromso became the 41st Stakes winner for his sire with a thrilling victory in the Listed Ladies Day Cup over 1400m at Hawkesbury, November 7.

Listed-placed as a three-year-old back in 2010, the now seven-year-old broke his Stakes race duck with a tough on-speed effort in his 39th career start. Commands gelding Soledad finished well to claim third.

Bred by Warren Taylor, Tromso is the first Stakes winner for Listed-winning Quest For Fame mare Feelers, whose granddam was New Zealand Horse of the Year Tidal Light.

The sire of five G1 winners including Darley stallions Denman and Benfica, Lonhro was Australia’s Champion stallion in the 2010/11 racing season and is standing at Kelvinside at a fee of $88,000 inc. GST.
