Teofilo sires 17th winner

Samba Brazil wins easily in France

Teofilo sired his 17th individual winner on Monday October 31, when his son Samba Brazil easily won his Maiden at Lyon La Soie. Making his second start, and first on a synthetic surface, he crossed the line three-lengths in front.

Bred in Germany by Gestut Karlshof, he was sold for €150,000 as a yearling and is a half-brother to this seasons French Stakes winner Seismos. He is out of the winning Dashing Blade mare Sasuela, a half-sister to three German Classic winners, Schiaparelli, Samum and Salve Regina.

Teofilo has sired four Stakes winners from his impressive first crop. Parish Hall emulated his sire by taking the G1 Dewhurst Stakes, while Remember Alexander beat the boys in the G3 Tyros Stakes, and Parish Hall’s stable companion Teolane won a Listed race at Naas. In Germany, Black Arrow is an unbeaten Stakes winner after landing the Winterfavorit Trial on his second start. Teofilo has eclipsed the totals for both winners and stakes winners that his sire and grandsire, Galileo and Sadler’s Wells, both achieved with their first full year of runners.

Teofilo is standing this season for $22,000 (Inc. GST) at Kelvinside, NSW.
