Successful Saturday for Poet’s Voice

Voice Of Love leads from pillar to post to land the Listed Premio Campobello while Chastushka wins at Newbury on her debut

Voice Of Love has been a consistent performer for his first-season sire Poet’s Voice, winning twice and finishing second in Black type contests on his remaining two starts. On 24 October, he went one better to land the Listed Premio Campobello in Milan.

Sent straight to the front under jockey Fabio Branca, Voice Of Love dictated the pace throughout the nine-furlong contest and moving clear of his rivals at the top of the home straight, kept to his task superbly to win by three lengths.

Voice Of Love was bred by Massimo Parri and is out of the Tale Of The Cat mare Snowfield, also dam of multiple Stakes winner and Italian Derby third Time Chant, plus another winner in Yes It’s Snowing.

Later on Saturday, Godolphin filly Chastushka made a successful racecourse debut, running out the impressive winner of the one-mile maiden at Newbury. She was bred by Powerstown Stud and is out of the Group-winning mare Sesmen.

Poet’s Voice is also sire of Ripon Champion Two-Year-Old Trophy winner Whitman, four-time winner Bathos, plus Colour Me Happy – victorious at Newmarket earlier this week.
