Street Cry filly impressive on debut

Za Moulin Rouge rounds off Stakes double for sire

Trainer Mark Kavanagh appears to have unearthed another potential star by Street Cry with two-year-old filly Za Moulin Rouge recording a devastating three-and-a-quarter length win on debut in the Listed Queen Adelaide Stakes over 1050m at Morphettville on 2 February.

After beginning smartly, Za Moulin Rouge settled just behind the speed before angling clear at the top of the straight and putting a big gap on her rivals with an electric turn of foot before going on to win by an ever widening margin.

Bred by J & M Maronde, Za Moulin Rouge is from the family of G1 winners Lonhro, Niello and Grosvenor and is the first Stakes winner for G2 winning Stravinsky mare La Sizeranne.

The sire of 13 G1 winners including Zenyatta, Shocking, Whobegotyou and the Darley stallions Street Sense and Street Boss, Street Cry will be represented by three yearlings at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale in March and 15 yearlings at the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale in April including lot 30, a daughter of G1 winner Black Mamba and lot 37, a filly out of G1 winner Bramble Rose.
