Second Stakes victory for son of Reset

Darley stallions quinella the Listed Tavern Stakes as Fawkner leads home By The Way (Street Cry)

Fawkner, a five-year-old son of Reset, has been a wonderfully consistent campaigner for his sire and connections, finishing in the first three in all but three of his 13 starts and on 6 October he added a second Black type victory to his record when landing the Listed Tavern Stakes at Flemington.

Winning the 1410m contest by three-quarters of a length from By The Way (by fellow Darley stallion Street Cry), Fawkner was recording his seventh career success and has now earned over $350,000.

His victory also completed a remarkable feat for his dam Dane Belltar (Danewin), as he was the third of her foals to win on the day following victories by Tanby and Viking Star. Dane Belltar was herself an accomplished performer, winning the G3 Lakewood Stud Stakes and placing in both the G1 Crown Oaks and G1 Schweppes Oaks.

Reset, who stands at Northwood Park at a fee of $16,500 including GST, has sired 21 individual Black type performers, headed up by G1-winning duo Pinker Pinker and Rebel Raider.
