Sea Lord too strong

Second Stakes win for son of Street Cry

Sea Lord made it two successive wins at Moonee Valley when making nearly all the running to win the Listed Chandler Macleod Stakes over 1200m.

The son of Street Cry was being pressed at the top of the straight but pulled out plenty in the run to the line to register his fifth career victory.

“He’s a very game horse,” winning trainer Stephen Brown said. “He was being pressured a long way out but he found plenty in the straight. He certainly deserves another big win.”

Bred by Mr P Newman, this is the second Stakes win for Sea Lord, one of 56 Stakes winners for Street Cry who will stand at Darley Kelvinside in 2012 at a fee of $110,000 (inc. GST), alonside his G1-winning history-making son Street Sense at a fee of $38,500 (inc. GST).

Street Cry is the sire of 2012 Stakes winners Zaidan (G1), Carlton House, Princess Highway, Falls Of Lora and Holladay Road.
