Satine Rouge makes it ten for Helmet

Filly wins by five lengths in France to take her first-season sire’s winning tally into double figures

Two-year-old filly Satine Rouge continued a good week for first-season sire Helmet on 21 July when she romped to a five-length victory over seven furlongs at Mont-de-Marsan in France.

She becomes the tenth European-bred winner for Helmet, who earlier this week not only saw his daughter Lady Of Course remain unbeaten when recording her second straight win, but also added a new winner in Bongrace.

Satine Rouge was bred in Ireland by Gerard Kerin and is out of the Stakes-placed mare Red Top (Fasliyev), now dam of three individual winners. Red Top is herself a half-sister to Group winner and Queen Mary third Rag Top.

Helmet is also sire of Stakes-placed filly Boater, plus multiple winners Kreb’s Cycle and Orewa.
