New stallions turn heads at Dalham Hall stallion parade

Dawn Approach and Epaulette make fantastic first impressions

Darley’s European shuttle stallions arrived safely in Sydney earlier this week 24 hours after leaving London’s Heathrow Airport. Among them were Dawn Approach and Epaulette who have both just finished covering their first book of mares at Kildangan Stud in Ireland and will stand their first Australian season at stud at Kelvinside this Spring.

Undefeated European Champion at two, Dawn Approach’s six wins as a juvenile included the G2 Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot as well as the G1 National Stakes and G1 Dewhurst Stakes. He returned at three to claim the G1 2000 Guineas in devastating fashion and the G1 St James’s Palace Stakes.

Sadly, Commands will be missing from the Kelvinside stallion roster this year however his multiple G1-winning son Epaulette is a worthy replacement. A Stakes-winning juvenile, Epaulette excelled at three, winning the G1 Golden Rose in the Spring before defeating eight G1-winning sprinters in the G1 Doomben 10,000 at the Queensland Winter carnival.

Both Dawn Approach and Epaulette turned heads at the recent Dalham Hall stallion parade with two people particularly taken by the young stallions being bloodstock agents Dermot Farrington and James Harron who were in attendance.
