Mrs McDougal cruises to victory in the Plenty of Grace Stakes

Daughter of Medaglia d’Oro gets Stakes win in her seasonal debut

Mrs McDougal took the lead at the top of the lane and continued to draw off through the stretch to win the eight furlong Plenty of Grace Stakes at Aqueduct.

The daughter of Medaglia d’Oro, who was making her first start of the year in the Plenty of Grace, improved her record to four wins in eight starts for owners Mr. and Mrs. William K. Warren Jr.

Bred in Kentucky by Aaron U. and Marie Jones, Mrs McDougal was purchased for $450,000 at the Keeneland September Yearling sale in 2013. She is out of the Distorted Humor mare, Distorted Passion, a multiple Stakes winner that was also multiple G2-placed.

Medaglia d’Oro was the sire of 29 Stakes winners in 2015 including undefeated champion juvenile filly Songbird, G1 Golden Slipper winner Vancouver, and Mshawish, winner of the G1 Gulfstream Park Turf Handicap. Thus far in 2016, Medaglia d’Oro has sired Graded Stakes winners Mshawish, winner of the G1 Donn Handicap, Songbird, winner of the G1 Santa Anita Oaks, Astern, winner of both the G2 Silver Slipper and G3 Kindergarten Stakes in Australia, and Go Around, winner of the Tampa Turf Classic.
