Lonhro cracks ton

Pair of smart juveniles see Lonhro first stallion to record 100 individual winners for the season again

For the second consecutive year Lonhro became the first stallion in Australia to record 100 individual winners for the season with three new winners on February 14 taking him to the milestone.

Two of the new winners were exciting two-year-olds Exosphere and Petrossian, who both scored dominant wins. Petrossian bolted in by more than three lengths on debut at Muswellbrook, while Exosphere rocketed up Golden Slipper markets with a four-length romp at Kembla Grange.

Bred by Ray Gall, Petrossian is the seventh winner from Zoffany mare Damzelle Pedrille, the dam of G1w Diamond Drille as well as Stakes winners Madame Pedrille and M’Lady Pedrille. Damzelle Pedrille is a full sister to G2w Mamzelle Pedrille, dam of Lonhro’s G2-winning son O’Lonhro.

Exosphere was bred by Darley and is the second foal from multiple city-winning Danzero mare Altitude who is a daughter of the Stakes performer Highest.

Lonhro has two yearlings set to go under the hammer at the Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale in March and 13 entries for the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale.
