Juvenile Stakes success for Lonhro

Buckinghampshire takes the Listed Summer Juvenile Stakes in South Africa

Lonhro sired his second Stakes-winning juvenile from his current two-year-old crop on Saturday January 31 when his son Buckinghampshire won the Listed Summer Juvenile Stakes at Kenilworth in South Africa. Going into the race a maiden after a debut second in December, he won by one-and-a-quarter lengths in the five furlong contests.

Bred in Australia by Mrs J S Mackay, Buckinghampshire is a brother to G3-filly Cautious and out of Exceed And Excel's Listed-placed mare Seeking Attention.

Exceed And Excel mares when crossed with Lonhro have now had four runners, all winners, with three Stakes horses and two Stakes winners including New Zealand G1-heroine Bounding.

Lonhro has now sired 49 Stakes winners including six winners at the highest level including Denman, Benfica and Pierro.
