Jimando too good at Flemington

Son of Commands records second Stakes victory

Three-year-old  Commands colt Jimando took out the Listed Henry Bucks Stakes over the 1400m at Flemington on September 8, giving the Tony McEvoy- rained runner his second Stakes victory.

Coming off a last start win at Morphettville over 1050m, the Milburn Creek Stud-bred colt sat sixth in running before a perfectly timed ride by jockey Mark Neilson to get the colt to the front when it counted, to score by three-quarters-of-a-length over Awesome Bro and Exceed And Excel gelding Forget in third.

Out of the Darley-bred Caerleon Finko, Jimando will now target the spring riches and has excited trainer Tony McEvoy this preparation, who stated his next run will be against Lonhro's Champion colt Pierro in the G2 Bill Stutt Stakes at Moonee Valley.

The leading sire of winners for the last three seasons, Commands is the sire of 48 Stakes winners including G1 winners Skilled, Paratroopers, Erewhon, Purple and Undue.

Standing the current season at Darley Kelvinside at a fee of $55,000 (inc. GST), further information on Commands as well as the rest of the Darley roster can be viewed in Darley’s 2012 online stallion brochure by clicking here, or by clicking here to download the new App for your Iphone/Ipad.
