Holy Boss takes charge in Chick Lang Stakes

Street Boss colt earns second Stakes win in a row

Three-year-old Street Boss colt Holy Boss is certainly heating up, posting his third victory in a row with a sharp win in the Chick Lang Stakes on Preakness Saturday at Pimlico. In his previous start the sprinter impressed in the Bachelor Stakes at Oaklawn Park.

In the six-furlong race Holy Boss broke well and showed early speed, positioned just off the lead in second. Turning for home the son of Street Boss challenged to take the lead on the outside, and extended his margin in the stretch to easily seal the win by two-and-one-half-lengths.

Honoured as a TDN Rising Star after his debut win at Churchill Downs as a two-year-old, the colt is out of Holy Bull mare Holy Grace, a half-sister to multiple Graded Stakes winner Mark One, Stakes winner Daiwa Carson, and the dam of G3 winner Pleasant Prince. Holy Boss's second dam is Stakes winner My Marchesa. He was bred in Kentucky by Adena Springs.

Other Stakes winners for Street Boss in 2015 include G3 El Camino Real Derby winner Metaboss, Baffle Stakes winner Bench Warrant, and Australian Stakes winner The Quarterback. The sire's top runners lifetime include G1 King's Bishop winner Capo Bastone and G1 Arkansas Derby winner Danza.

Street Boss will stand the upcoming southern hemisphere breeding season at Northwood Park at a fee of $11,000 (inc. GST).
