HDF McNeil to Chivalry

Street Cry colt impresses with maiden Stakes win

Having the first start of his three-year-old campaign, Street Cry colt Chivalry headed to Caulfield to start first-up in the G3 H.D.F. McNeil Stakes over 1200m.

With form around some of the best juveniles of his two-year-old season, the Mark Kavanagh-trained colt settled second last in the field, with jockey Glen Boss allowing the colt to find his feet in the run.

The widest on the turn, Chivalry sprinted down the outside of the field to claim the lead in the shadows of the post, indicating he is well on target for the G1 Caulfield Guineas (1600m), a race won last season by fellow Street Cry three-year-old Long John.

Bred by Gerry Harvey’s Baramul Stud, Chivalry is out of the G3-winning, G1 placed Danehill mare World Peace, a daughter of the G2-wining Light Up The World.

Chivalry became the 77th Stakes winner for Street Cry who is the sire of 15 G1 winners including Darley stallions Street Sense and Street Boss, Zenyatta, Shocking and Whobegotyou.
