Hard Spun sires sixth winner

Kunooz makes winning debut at Newmarket

Darley stallion Hard Spun sired his sixth winner on Friday July 15, when his son Kunooz made a successful winning debut at Newmarket over 1400m.

Held behind the speed early, he took up the running 200m from home and held on gamely to repel the late charge of Fragonard, by fellow Darley stallion Teofilo, with another Godolphin runner Parlay (Street Cry) one-and-a-half lengths back in third.

Bred by Darley, Kunooz is the third known foal, and third winner, from the Brazilian G1-winner Aviacion. She also has a yearling colt by Raven's Pass and a filly foal by Dubawi.

Hard Spun has now sired six winners including the G2 winner Red Duke, impressive when landing the Superlative Stakes over the same course and distance last week, and the promising unbeaten pair of Artest and Questing. Hard Spun will stand the forthcoming southern hemisphere breeding season at Northwood Park, Victoria for a fee of $16,500 (inc GST).
