Third and final online auctions keenly contested

The third and final online auctions of 2013 nominations to Exceed And Excel and Commands were keenly contested with Tony Schmidt eventually securing the Exceed And Excel nomination for $84,700 inc. GST and Woodside Park Stud the winning bidder on the Commands nomination at $52,250 inc. GST.

Once again both auctions saw multiple bidders vying for the nominations.

Darley’s Head of Sales Alastair Pulford said, “We are extremely pleased with the great response we have had to the online auctions. This was new initiative and it is the first time in Australia something like this has been done.

“The bidding in the final auction went right down to the final seconds. People were aware that these were the only available nominations in Exceed And Excel and Commands left for the 2013 season and bid accordingly.”

Woodside Park Stud General Manager Murray Tillett was thrilled to have finally secured a nomination to Commands.

“I had tried but was beaten in the first two online auctions so I was very keen to make sure I didn’t miss out in the final auction,” Tillett said.

“We will be sending Adulterer who is a lovely mare and a great mating for Commands. She was G3-placed on the track and is a daughter of New Zealand G1 winner It’s My Sin.”

Exceed And Excel is Australia’s Champion stallion, while no stallion in the country produced more G1 wins than Commands last season.
