Capo Bastone a powerful winner of the G1 King's Bishop

First Grade 1 winner for sire Street Boss

Capo Bastone's class shone through on August 24, becoming the first G1 winner for his sire, when recording an exciting victory in the G1 King's Bishop Stakes at Saratoga racecourse in the USA.

Already a mulitple G1-performer at two, the son of Street Boss placed second in the G3 Derby Trial Stakes, before finishing down the track in the G2 Woody Stephens Stakes in June.

After jumping away slowly, Capo Bastone waited to make his move until the final 200m of the race, where he rushed up on the outside and pushed out in front to win by two lengths going away.

Out of the Stakes-placed Fit To Fight mare Fight To Love, Capo Bastone is a half-brother to multiple Graded-placed C J's Leelee. The colt was bred by Hargus Sexton, Sandra Sexton, Tom Bozarth & Silver Fern Farm, LLC.

A G1-winning son of Street Cry, Street Boss is the sire of eight stakes horses so far.  Most recently, his two-year-old son Danza was third in the G2 Saratoga Special Stakes on August 11th.  He is also represented by the dual Stakes winner Street Gem, the unbeaten stakes winner Bosco, as well as the two-year-old stakes winner Silvertonguedtommy.

Street Boss is standing the current southern hemisphere breeding season at Darley's Victorian property Northwood Park at a fee of $11,000 (inc. GST), along side Hard Spun ($16,500 (inc. GST)), who, like Capo Bastone was also a winner of the G1 King's Bishop Stakes during his racing career.
