Any Given Saturday gets third southern hemisphere winner

Saturday Affair showed rapid development to become the third southern hemisphere winner for Any Given Saturday when successful over 1300 metres at Morphettville on June 23.

The two-year-old filly stepped out for her third start in the Adelaide event. Saturday Affair settled back in the field but was blocked for a run halfway down the straight.

Bred by R & J Lehman, Dr J Knight, Ms I Lynch and M Nietz in South Australia, Saturday Fever is a daughter of the Stakes-placed mare Little Miss Quick. Little Miss Quick foaled a filly by Authorized in 2011 before Reset served the mare in the last breeding season.

Any Given Saturday has sired 28 individual winners. The stallion will stand at Northwood Park for $11,000 (including GST) during the 2012 breeding season.
